Welcome to the ancient church of St Peter's at Bywell - at once an active and thriving parish church for Stocksfield and a place of most remarkable peace and serenity at which worship has continued uninterrupted (except for the Covid pandemic) since the 9th century.

If you visit St Peter's you will find there a place of peace, encounter and history. St Peter’s has flat step-free access via the south porch but only a chemical toilet in an outbuilding accessed via narrow steps. The church is situated at the far end of Bywell village, near Stocksfield. There is no car park at St Peter’s but you can park in the lane leading up to the church.
